Our History
Arizona Sport Shirts started in 1974 by Karl Korbacher in a small garage in south Phoenix, AZ. The idea came from Karl being an action photographer. He thought, instead of selling expensive photos, why not put that action photo on a shirt? Thus, the first racing T-shirt was born. This is where the Arizona Sport Shirts slogan, "The Original Racing Shirt” came from.
Because Indiana is the Racing Capital of the World, and it being centrally located to many dirt tracks, Arizona Sport Shirts relocated to Indianapolis, IN in 1989. After moving, the name changed to Arizona Sport Shirts of Indy until the 2000's. That is when V.P. Gerald Newton became a part of the company and helped elevate it to the next level.
With years of experience and growing fashion in the racing industry, Arizona Sport Shirts created its own clothing line, Gotta Race, in 1995. Gotta Race is our own competitive racing apparel made for any racing fan selling, drivers, series, event and our own merchandise. Catch us at dirt tracks all throughout the U.S. all year-round!
